Tania Salerno

Dr. Tania M. G. Salerno obtained her master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Catania in 2013. In November 2018 she got her PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Messina. Afterwards, during 2019-2021, she was employed as Technical Director and specialist in separation techniques (liquid chromatography and gas chromatography) coupled to infrared spectroscopy for a spin-off company named BeSep S.r.l.

Since December 2021 she is a Research Fellow in Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences of the University of Messina where she hold the course of  Analytical Chemistry for the bachelor degree in Nutraceutical Sciences and Functional Foods (SNAF). Dr. Salerno’s research activity is focused on the analysis of complex matrices of forensic, cosmetic and food interest, through the use of conventional and/or innovative analytical techniques, with particular emphasis to GC-FTIR, HPLC-FTIR, HPLC-MS/MS and GC-MS techniques.
